The main event got cancelled. But I had a great betting event. +15.82 UNITS, 71% ROI. My most profitable event so far. This was an event where mostly favorites won. For the most part the reads were good. I got a rare underdog bet right. Jennifer Maia! Yes. Her boxing looked so much better than I thought.
BAD READS:
I had a bad read on the Salikhov v Fialho fight. I did know that Failho had bad defense. I did know that he could get hit a lot without going down. I did know he was a pressure fighter that hits hard. What I underestimated was Salikhov's toughness at his age. And I underestimated his power. I thought Salikhov would get worn down by the pressure in the later part of the fight. But after Fialho looked like he might get the KO in round 1, Salikhov comes back and compromises Fialho in the 2nd and finishes him in the 3rd. Failho's bad defense against a very precise and hard hitting striker was his downfall. Bad read on that. Kung fu and old age wins. I should be happy because that describes me, but I lost 2.2 units betting against it.
Another bad read that I actually profited on was Charles Johnson. I picked him to win a close decision which is what happened. I even got the split decision prop. But I thought he lost. Watching the fight I was regretting it the whole time. I guess that's what needs to happen to win a split decision bet. This is the 3rd time in about a month I've won a split decision bet. Not bad. I did not like the way he fought though. He doesn't use his length well and give the opponent too much opportunities. At times he looks very fluid and good but then he takes long breaks where he allows himself to get hit and controlled. I am never betting on him again.

More Notes:
Bleda looked really good but gassed out about halfway through allowing Silva to take over later. Olivera and Demopoulis both looked improved. Olivera seems to be throwing harder strikes. But Demopoulis's wrestling offense seemed to be more effective than I saw before. She was good at getting take downs, controlling and ground and pound. Olivera seemed helpless was taken down. Turcios looked better than in his last fight. His slippery unothodox grappling and constant movement won the fight. But it was decently close fight. Johns and Morales went how I thought. Not a very eventful fight. Both waiting to counter. Johns was slightly more offensive. Shot a lot of TDs, but unsuccessful. Morales has great TD defense. He doesn't let go. So Johns won just because he was a little more aggressive. Maia outclassed Moroz in striking and wrestling. I thought Moroz would be better in boxing but she wasn't at all. She has no defense and constantly got hit by the same strikes over and over again. She did not seem to try to defend at all. She can take a shot though. She took so many hard punches. Jack Della's boxing is so good. Wow. It was no competition. Nzechukwu's striking looks improved once again. Hard straight scary punches. in the interview, he seems very focused on improving where he is lacking and very aware of his holes. Seems to have good fight IQ. He looks like a giant next to Cutelabra. If he keeps improving, with his physique, he can be really good.
