UFC 267: Błachowicz vs. Teixeira Post Fight Reviews

Updated: Oct 31, 2021

Tagir Ulanbekov vs Allan Nascimento

POST-FIGHT REVIEW: Tagir controls on top, get TDs, but nascimiento is dangerous on the ground. Even though he's on the bottom he makes good sub attempts on the arms over and over. N wants to be on his back. Tagir having difficult time doing his own subs or punching because N is constantly going for his arms. He has hard time getting into good position to be more offensive. If you TD Nascimiento you'd better be really good at grappling. Tagir by split decision. It was not as dominating as I thought it would be. N was more dangerous than I thought based on the footage I saw.

Andre Petroski vs Yaozong Hu

POST FIGHT REVIEW: Petroski looking good in round 1, throwing huge shots that land. Hu looks tired and getting hit, not good defense. P striking too telegraphed. Hu is durable, gets out of some bad grappling positions. Hu throw a head kick that makes him off balance and fall down. P immediately jump on the neck. round 2, TD by P immediately. Hu's skill is durability and constant pressure. Scrambles around on ground. He is in bad positions, but managing to survive. Round 3 looking similar. Hu surviving but getting totally dominated. Petroski finally gets the sub.

Makwan Amirkhani vs Lerone Murphy

POST FIGHT REVIEW: Makwan gets TD right away. Makwan controlling position. Nurphy defending gets back up but goes down again. 1st round dominated by Makwan.2nd goes so fast. I even missed it cause wasn't paying attention. Murphy gets KO with knee when Makwan goes in for TD. Really good timing. I got the pick right but the method wrong.

Michał Oleksiejczuk vs Shamil Gamzatov

POST FIGHT REVIEW: O aggressive striking immediately. Both landing. O landing more. G looks like he's breathing hard already halfway through the 1st. O constant forward pressure. O gets the finish by KO in round 1. Spreadsheet not as good at predicting time prop tonight. I thought this would go the distance.

Elizeu Zaleski vs Benoit Saint-Denis

POST FIGHT REVIEW: No way. This fight. Round 2 is crazy. Z dominates with striking. S looks like he is going out. The commentators are yelling stop the fight. But it goes on and on and on and on. It should have been stopped with over half the round to go. Somehow he manages to compose himself and then Z starts to look a little tired. S get the TD and survives round 2. Z looking tired in 3rd. S looks like he got second wind. eye poke on S in 3rd. It continues. Z gets a TD. S on bottom. groin strike on S. point taken. Wow. This fight should have been stopped in the 2nd, but S survives. Elizeu by decision. The spreadsheet got it right, but not really. It should have been TKO. I heard the commentators say that ref was relieved of his position because of how he reffed this fight.

Albert Duraev vs Roman Kopylov

POST FIGHT REVIEW: Fast competitive kickboxing in round 1. I think D is landing more cleaner. K strikes are crisp and long. D strikes more thudding. K lands hard in 2nd doing big damage to D's eye. D goes to wrestling against the fence. Gets TD. D is completely dominating on the ground. K manages to survive 2nd, but just by seconds. D had his neck. Doctor asked him opponent name and round number to make sure he was ok to continue. both slowed and tired in 3rd. K is surviving on feet. Still landing some shots. He actually manages to get a TD at the end. It goes the distance. Wow. Both durable. Duraev by UD. Spreadsheet was correct.

Zubaira Tukhugov vs Ricardo Ramos

POST FIGHT REVIEW: R light on his feet, more volume, halfway through 1st, T landing more hard clean shots. More aggressive now constant edging forward. R shots do not threaten T. Not enough power. R defense not good. T landing clean over and over. R surprises with spinning elbow. Shift in tides at end of 1st. T is good at countering. speedy punches from both. T gets a TD at end of 2nd after outlanding. R getting outstruck but it is competitive. He needs to do something different. Tuhugaov by UD. Spreadsheet predicted the decision, but I doubted it.

Amanda Ribas vs Virna Jandiroba

POST FIGHT REVIEW: Virna ahead in 1st. They look competitive in striking. Amanda TD defense pretty good, but Virna gets the TD and controls. Amanda defends pretty good. V lands hard shot at end of 1st. Amanda doing better in 2nd, gets TD. Amanda outlanding I think. Virna striking looking better than I thought. A little reckless. long reach. Amanda starting 3rd strong, landing a lot of combos. Virna a little slower, not as active. Virna punches slow and wide now. Amanda's TD defense good. Virna wobbled by head kick but seems to recover. Dominating 3rd round for Amanda. Nice, Amanda. Ribas by decision. Spreadsheet got it right.

Magomed Ankalaev vs Volkan Oezdemir

POST FIGHT REVIEW: O stalking in 1st, land hard shot. A backing up looking to counter, some control against fence. Lands hard shot on O that makes crowd scream. O starts looking a bit tired at end of 1st. A landed more shots in 1st. A outlanding again in 2nd. A gets TD. Now controlling against the fence. In the 3rd, not much volume. A being careful. O not doing much dodging. Ankalaev by decision. Got the pick right but not the method.

Jingliang Li vs Khamzat Chimaev

Chamaev by sub. Chimaev got the TD immediately, Li tried to defend for awhile, but couldn't do it. Chimaev actaully picked him up and walked him to the side of the ring and then threw him down. A little over halfway through the 1st.

Alexander Volkov vs Marcin Tybura

POST FIGHT REVIEW: size difference looks huge. V landing more shots in 1st. They go to ground, V lands on top, controlling. 1st round dominated by Volkov. T having more success in 2nd with more aggression. V looks too big to TD. Both looking a little slow and tired. Messy looking in the third. V looks really tired. close I think. V lands some hard combos. V has more skills, but the cardio was a problem. Volkov by Unanimous decision. Got the pick but not the method.

Islam Makhachev vs Dan Hooker

POST FIGHT REVIEW: M get TD pretty quickly. Wow. Makhachev 1st round submission. He is so good. He is a wizard.

Petr Yan vs Cory Sandhagen

POST FIGHT REVIEW: start off trading leg kicks. Nice, very competitive. Cory a bit more volume and some combos landding. Yan landing some hard body kicks.Cory tries a couple TD. Nerve wracking. I think Cory edged the 1st. Nice body shots from Cory in 2nd. Yan land a hard right. Cory sharp, Yan more volume than usual. Jump knee landed by Cory. varies peppering shots with some hard shots. Very competitive 2nd. I think Cory won that though. Cory nice angles. Yan lands big spinning fist and knock Cory down. wow. They scramble around on the ground, Cory gets out. Keeps composure. Did that give the 3rd round to Yan? Cory was winning before that KD. The 4th is where Yan always takes over. He's edging it on strikes, Cory gets a TD. Wow, 4th definitely went to Yan. Cory's movement and defense slowed. His offense is compromised. Hitting Cory with hard shots. I think it comes down to the 5th. Both more careful in the 5th. Cory seems to be holding back looking for a KO opening. Yan ahead in 5th. Yan won that last round. Yan by decision. That was so good. I really wanted Cory to win, but both of them were so impressive. Technical, back and forth, fast paced, so exciting. That's my favorite type of fight. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Jan Błachowicz vs Glover Teixeira

POST FIGHT REVIEW: I am so happy for Glover. So inspiring. I actually feel like crying for him. I think Glover caught Jan with a hard left hook in the 2nd and he got him down again and finished it pretty quickly. After being taken down in the first and then the hard shot in the second, I think Jan was compromised. On the feet Jan better technically, but Glover can just walk though everything and eventually catches Jan. It went so much faster than I thought it would.
