My favorite fighter is back and fighting Jamaine Ortiz this weekend. So happy he is safe! I have not been keeping up with boxing this past year, but in honor of Loma coming back I did some boxing tape study for this weekend and came up with some bets. Not too confident but here goes.
Loma v. Ortiz: Loma is such a huge favorite that I have to choose a prop. I lean Loma by KO in the last half of the fight. But I have a hard time with this as I also wouldn't be surprised if it went to decision. A few of Loma's more recent fights have gone to decision. But I lean towards him finishing because from what I have seen of Ortiz, he is not quite on the level of Loma's other recent opponents. He seems a bit reckless and his defense isn't as solid. He seems like a fun fighter to watch because he likes to burst forward with long combinations. He's fast, but not as fast as Loma. He doesn't seem to have a lot of power for Loma to be worried about. I see him leaving lots of openings for Loma to take advantage of. But, then again he is undefeated so I can't tell how durable he is. But I have seen him look rocked and I think I saw him knocked down in a recent fight. On the other hand, he is younger than Loma. And Loma has been away from boxing because of the war in Ukraine. So I'm not sure if those things will make a difference in this fight. But that's my pick.
Jordan Gill vs Kiko Martinez: Gill seems to have the edge in speed and precision. But Martinez has fought the better competition and he seems durable. The age difference significantly benefits Gill. I lean Gill, but will bet FGTD.
Joseph Diaz vs William Zepeda: I tend to think Diaz is better in general. He seems to be better defensively. But I think Zepeda will throw more volume. I think it could be close and it will go to decision.
Robeisy Ramirez vs Jose Matias Romero: Romero looks like he gets hit a lot. But he does seem like he could be durable. Ramirez looks better. He looks to have a lot of power. I'm going with Ramirez by KO.
